What is a beef share?
A beef share is a whole, half or quarter of one animal, bought direct from the ranch that raised it. Instead of picking cuts one package at a time, you reserve part of a single animal, so you know exactly which ranch your beef came from. You can read about each ranch before you reserve.
Whole, half or quarter: which size fits?
A whole share is the entire animal. A half share is half of it, and a quarter share is a quarter of it. The bigger the share, the more beef you take home and the more freezer space you will need.
Every ranch sets its own shares, so open a listing to see that ranch's price, its estimated weight where the ranch has given one, and when and where pickup happens. Comparing a few listings is the easiest way to find the size that fits your household.
How reserving works
You reserve a share by paying a deposit, which holds your place while the ranch raises and processes the animal. When your beef is ready, we email you a secure link to pay the balance. Then you collect it from the ranch's pickup location. Shares are picked up locally, not shipped.
Where the money goes
The rancher keeps 100% of the share price. When you buy a share, you are paying the ranch that raised the animal directly.
